A Guide to Queens, Brooklyn, Long Island and Westchester Maternity Photography

Why should you book a Maternity session

A maternity session honors the connection and anticipation of your growing family. If you are debating on whether you should be documenting your pregnancy, keep reading.

As a mother of two, trust me, this is a chapter worth preserving. I often think about how I didn’t take professional maternity photos with either of my pregnancies and how much I wish I had. Regardless of how we may feel or our concerns with how we look, its important remember women are so powerful.

When to book your maternity session

Maternity sessions are best scheduled during your second trimester around the 20 week mark with your session taking place between 26-34 weeks pregnant. By then your belly has likely popped but you’re still comfortable enough to move and enjoy the session.

Where do maternity sessions take place

Maternity sessions can take place in-home throughout the year or outside during golden hour from April through November. Different vibes but equally magical.

In-home maternity sessions are about the pause before life speeds up. They give you a chance to slow down while you document the love and connection in your own space. The space you’ll bring your little one home to and where memories will be cherished. These sessions are perfect if you have a toddler as they are comfortably already in a familiar space.

Outdoor maternity sessions are relaxed, sun soaked evenings filled with movement, connection and beautiful natural light. Taking place during golden hour as the sun begins to set, it wraps you in a soft, golden glow that feels warm and effortless. These sessions take place at various parks and beaches throughout Queens, Long Island and Westchester. Learn more about different outdoor settings and which may be best for your session.
